Who are the Guardians of Harmony?

Chartered by the Barbershop Harmony Society (SPEBSQSA) in 1987, the Guardians of Harmony (GoH) were founded to offer a demanding and challenging musical experience with a commitment to excellence. They belong to the Pioneer District which includes all of lower Michigan, most of upper Michigan and parts of Ontario.

Until recently, they were known as the Harmony Heritage Chorus. As a testament to their commitment, the chorus won the 1990, 1998, 2002 and 2005 Pioneer District Chorus Championships and competed in the International Barbershop Chorus Contests in 1991, 1999, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007.

GoH is a non-profit organization actively supporting several charities, including Youth in Harmony and the Harmony Foundation, as well as music in schools and churches. Members come from all walks of life and join together for fellowship and singing in an atmosphere conducive to harmonious sounds.

They rehearse once a week on Thursdays from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. Currently, they meet at the Mt. Clemens Zion United Church of Christ.
